Council has just launched their 2019-2021 Draft Rating Strategy and is inviting community members to have their say.

Rates and how they are calculated can be confusing and complex so we have endeavoured to simplify the rating strategy as much as we can.

Rates are something that affect every property owner and it is really important that as many people as possible have their say.

Under the Draft Rating Strategy, it is proposed that the 10 percent of total rating income will be reduced and the differential discount for residential, commercial and industrial properties outside of Maryborough will be removed.

This proposal will create more equity between ratepayers and do away with differentials in rate amounts.

As you can see, the proposed option will affect a lot of ratepayers in our Shire and that’s why we need your feedback.
