The new bicycle/scooter track in Dunolly’s Gordon Gardens is now ready to be used by the community.

The pump track is a modular system made of timber composite that forms a circular track of about 65 metres.

The outdoor fitness equipment will be ready for use in November after a shade structure has been installed. The equipment includes a chest press, body pull ups, body twist, leg press and step up station.

The pump track and exercise equipment will be suitable for people of all ages and provides free opportunities for physical activity.

Central Goldfields Shire Council Chief Administrator Noel Harvey urged residents to take advantage of the new additions and get active.

“I encourage all Dunolly residents, and those who live in other towns, to stay active and take advantage of the pump track and fitness equipment.

The pump track and fitness equipment are part of a $140,000 upgrade from the State Government’s Healthy Heart of Victoria initiative.

The Healthy Heart of Victoria funds improvements for infrastructure, facilities and/or programs across the region to enable more community members to increase their activity levels.

Other projects that have been funded include:

  • New basketball court in Gordon Gardens
  • The kitchen garden and workshops at Maryborough Community House
  • Playground equipment at Maryborough Community House
