Draft Community Vision and Council Plan endorsed

The Draft Central Goldfields Shire Community Vision 2031 and the Draft Council Plan 2021-2025 are now available for community feedback.
The Draft Community Vision reflects our community’s values and aspirations for the future and details how Central Goldfields Shire needs to grow and develop over the next 10 years and beyond.
The Draft Council Plan is a key strategic document that will guide Council’s decision making and resource allocation for the next four years.
Both documents have been informed by extensive community feedback. In June, Council appointed the Shaping Central Goldfields Community Advisory Group to work with Council to develop the Vision and Plan, as well as other key strategic documents.
Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Chris Meddows-Taylor thanked everyone in the community who had taken the time to provide input into the Shaping Central Goldfields project over the past few months.
“Special thanks to the Community Advisory Group who have invested their time and knowledge into helping us with this important process.
“The documents outline both the future we want for our community and where Council resources and budget will be allocated for the next four years, focussing our work towards achieving this future, so it’s important that we have them right.
“Please take the time to review them and let us know your thoughts and importantly let us know if the draft Community Vision is indeed your vision and the vision you seek for the future of our community.”
Shaping Central Goldfields Community Advisory Group member Felicity Martin said thinking deeply about the future of our shire, listening to others experiences and views about what is important for the Central Goldfields to thrive as a community has been a valuable experience.
“I encourage people to contribute their thoughts to ensure this long-term plan is a vision that represents us all.”
