You might have seen in the news recently that the $4,495,900 upgrade to the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve is now underway.

It’s so exciting to see this project commence as it is set to have real benefit to the growing population of Carisbrook and its surrounding townships.

The Reserve is home to both men’s and women’s football, netball, bowls and cricket with the current facilities long overdue for a refresh.

Jointly funded by the Victorian Government and Council, the project will deliver an accessible and inclusive modern sporting facility with dedicated change rooms for females.

Not only will it provide recreational opportunities for our residents and wider community, but it will also provide a community hub facility for staging events, classes and gatherings.

Congratulations and thank you to the many funding partners and community groups and individuals involved in getting the project this far. Full credit to the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve Committee of Management – with their 5 to 6 years of planning and advocacy now coming to fruition!

The project, which is one of Council’s Priority Projects, as well as a key project in Council’s Recreation and Open Space Strategy 2020-29, is being delivered in four stages, with Stage One - including car parking, a new vehicle entry, removal of the away change rooms and a new green keepers shed – now underway.

Regular updates will be published in The Carisbrook Mercury as the project progresses, or you can find out more, as well as access a copy of the project plans, by visiting www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/carisbrookrecreationreserve
