2023 Energy Breakthrough - family fun!

Maryborough will be buzzing next week when our 2023 Energy Breakthrough event kicks off from Wednesday 22 November to Sunday 26 November 2023

Since 1991, Energy Breakthrough has provided opportunities for students, teachers, parents and local industry to work together to design and construct a vehicle, a machine or innovation in technology that represent an ‘energy breakthrough’.

This year’s event is expected to attract:

  • 4,600 participants and their families
  • Almost 20,000 visitors over the duration of the five-day event
  • 110 schools from across Australia
  •  $3.3 million into our local economy

Even if you don’t have a family member or friend participating in the event, community members are encouraged to come along, enjoy the festival atmosphere and activities in the EB Central area from Scouts Victoria, Transurban, Toyota, FReeZA and more.

There will be plenty of FREE activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Join us at EB Central, between Princes Park Oval and Earl Street, Friday 24 and Saturday 25 November from 10am to 8pm each day and enjoy:

Interactive, educational and active displays and activities:

  • Robotics
  • Smoothie bike
  • New Toyota Hydrogen car on display
  • Community group displays and activities
  • And much more...

There will also be:

  • Outdoor Cinema: Thursday 23 November, Enjoy an open air cinema screening of Super Pets hosted by FReeZA
  • FReeZA Chill Out Zone: Chill out and enjoy some quiet time in EB Central with outdoor games and KIT Van. Disc golf activities hosted by Sports Focus
  • Free live music: Saturday 25 November enjoy entertainment from local bands between 11am and 8pm
