COVID-19 INFORMATION

Are you due for your booster? To maintain immunity against COVID-19, get your third dose as soon as you are eligible, which is currently four months after your second dose. Council is pleased to support Maryborough District Health Service in the re-opening of the Community Vaccination Hub this week.

The clinic is now administering third dose vaccinations for adults by appointment only. To be eligible, you must be 18 years or over and have received your second dose at least four months ago. Contact MDHS on 5461 0300 between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday to make an appointment.

LATEST NEWS

Maryborough Library upgrade

The Maryborough Regional Library has re-opened following its renovation. The project included new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. The new circulation desk will also be installed shortly. The project has been made possible thanks to $145,000 in funding from the Victorian Government's Living Libraries Grant.

PROJECT UPDATES

Talbot road upgrades

Rowe Street and Prince Alfred Street in Talbot will be upgraded, with works set to commence late January. The $670,000 project is fully funded by Council and will be delivered by our Operations team.

Skate and Scooter Park

We know our community have been looking forward to the construction of a new Skate and Scooter Park in Maryborough. Detailed planning for the project has taken longer than anticipated but it is almost complete. In late December, we were pleased to receive the Heritage Victoria permit. Due to the planning delays, we’ve had to reschedule construction of the new facility which will now commence August 2022 with completion late October, 2022. We understand this delay will cause disappointment to our local community, particularly our local young people who have been involved with the design process. The $643,260 project is funded by the Victorian Government, Council and the Avoca Co-operative and Community Enterprise Foundation. The facility will be constructed by Grind Projects who were appointed following a public tender process, and have years of experience in the design and construction of skate and scooter parks. Council remains committed to delivering this exciting facility for our community.

ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Road Management Plan – Have your say

Did you know Council is the road authority for around 1,300 kilometres of roads? Of these, 39% are sealed, 48% are gravel and 13% are tracks. To support these roads we also have 79 bridges and 175 major culverts throughout the Shire. Every four years Council is required to update their Road Management Plan. The Plan sets the parameters by which Council will operate the road network over the next term of Council. To help us develop an updated Draft Road Management Plan, we’re inviting residents to tell us what their top five issues are relating to local roads. You can view Council’s current Road Management Plan 2017, and provide feedback, by visiting www.engage.cgoldshire. vic.gov.au/roadmanagementplan You can also contact Council’s Coordinator Strategic Asset Management David Hildebrand by emailing david.hildebrand@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au Feedback is required by 5pm, Friday 28 January, 2022
