2021 Australia Day celebrations
Residents are invited to join the many Australia Day celebrations to be held on Tuesday 26 January around the Central Goldfields Shire.
In Maryborough, prewrapped snacks will be served from 8:30am with the official proceedings set to commence at 9am. The Australia Day awards – including Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year. The Community Award of the Year will not be presented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Across the Shire, local community groups and organisations will host Australia Day events at the following locations:
8am Free breakfast at the Talbot RSL Park (across from the Town Hall). BYO plate, knife, fork, mug and chair. For further information contact Greg or Heather on 0427 090 172.
8:30am Station Domain. Free prewrapped snacks will be provided. Official Australia Day awards ceremonies will be held. Official proceedings begin at 9am.
Council will be taking registrations for baby medallions (babies born during 2020) and books (for all four-year-old children starting kinder) however these will be sent out in the post to those who register, due to COVID they will not be presented on Australia Day during the celebrations.
